This is a version of Atari's 1979 retro shooter, Asteroids. I love classic arcade games, and particularly some of the early vector games, so I wanted to create online versions of them that people could play for free. This version is kind of a hybrid of the original Asteroids with Asteroids Deluxe, which had a couple more features, plus some of my own ideas and interpretation. It includes not only the asteroids and flying saucers of the original game, but also the satellites from Asteroids Deluxe, and black holes inspired by the gravity effects in Spacewar! The black holes really do cause quite a lot of havoc, but they're also a lot of fun! I'm a big fan of retro shoot-em-ups so naturally I had to create a version of what is arguably one of the most influential shooters of all time. (Space Invaders is coming next!)
